From 23rd to 27th  January , Baixo Guadiana "travels" to Madrid to participate in one of the most important European tourism fairs: Fitur. Pedestrianism is the main bet.
On the next January 19th at the auditorium Carlos do Carmo, the town hall of Lagoa starts the year 2019, the year that celebrates 246 years of the creation of the council of Lagoa, with the presentation of the thematic year – Lagoa cidade inclusiva”, with the closing of the ceremony in charge of Cabo Verdiana singer– Lura.
The council of Lagoa is going to present an event that will bring to the council the music of the ancient Medinas and jewries: The Al-Mutamid Music Festival. This Arab-Andalusian music festival will take place in the chapel of Cultural center of the Convent of S. José, on January 25th,at 9:30 pm.
The fourth edition of the "Street spectacle" "Living statues at Christmas", promoted by the council of Lagoa, and which took place last weekend in the center of this city, gathered a total of 14 artistic paintings Idealized by 16 of the most relevant national artists of this urban art, several times awarded in national and international festivals.
40 athletes were present, on Sunday, 2nd of december, in Lagoa, to dispute the 1st meeting South Zone of the National plan of talents-aquatic Polo, of the Portuguese Swimming Federation (FPN).
Odeleite was the most beautiful village of this Christmas,with a living nativity scene that recreated the old Belem of the birth of Jesus and where hundreds of visitors passed. From 6th to 9th December, more than 50 extras, craftsmen and producers of the council recreated the birth of the Child.
The council of Lagoa handed to the Republican National Guard (GNR) a work of art composed of artists from the School of Arts of Lagoa and guided by the artist Patico, with the purpose of marking the International Day for the Elimination of violence against Women, Celebrated on November 25th.
The Parish Council of Altura, welcomes, in the gallery Prof. Luís Amaro, from December 8th till January 6th, an exhibition of unique nativity scenes, which gathers more than 100 copies of this symbol representative of the Christmas period.
The village of Odeleite turns into Belem that welcomed the birth of Jesus. The Crib village, from 6th to 9th of December and open from 3pm, is one of the most faithful and beautiful recreations of the birth of the child, with more than 50 extras and craftsmen and producers of the council.
