The  National Opera Company from Pequim comes to the Arade Congress Center to show the "Yang Family Warriors", emphasising the year of the inclusive city.

With the presentation of the Yang family warriors at the Arade Congress Center (CCA) Lagoa, at 9pm on  February 11th ,the Pequim National Opera Company continues the celebration of the Chinese New Year of 2019, which started on February 5th.

The traditional Chinese opera is a popular form of drama and musical theater dating back to the beginnings of China's history. The opera The Warriors of the Yang family is based on a collection of folktales that focus on the war adventures of the Song Dynasty (960 – 1279) and the history of the Warriors of the Yang family.

This show tells the story of the women who protected their homeland. They are the generals of the Yang family who lead the Song Army, overcome a succession of unforeseen, even a fierce and powerful battle against the invading enemy. Finally, victorious the Song Army returns home commanded by the women of Yang warriors.

The Chinese New Year or the spring feast, corresponds to one of the moments of the most awaited calendar by the Chinese community. For the Portuguese, Algarvians and foreign communities to live among us, this is an opportunity to make contact with the customs, traditions and cultural manifestations of China, thus reinforcing ties, intercultural dialogue, and the cause "Lagoa Inclusive 2019 ".

It is recalled that in 2019 is celebrated the 40th anniversaryof the diplomatic relations between China and Portugal and the 20th anniversary of the transfer of the Macao administration to China. The council of Lagoa and the   Embassy of China have been developing, over the past years, the best relations, with well-visible results for example in the "market of cultures", a cultural proposal that is already a brand of Lagoa.

Tickets for this opera are on sale at the counters of St.Joseph's Convent, in Carlos do Carmo Auditorium and in the online ticket office.
