This year's programme has integrated actions aimed at promoting, raising awareness and exploiting, among the younger classes, the various contexts of life, where gender discrimination takes place, in particular in reconciling personal life, in the contexts of power and decision-making and in cases of violence and harassment.
The 9th and secondary students of the Grouping of Schools Rio Arade and Padre António Martins de Oliveira of the public network and the private school based in the Nobel International School county, attended the presentation of the project "Challenge Stereotypes" with the participation of the singer Ana Bacalhau.
Through a book, a theatrical performance and themes musicalized by the singer, young people reflected and discussed several concepts associated with the theme of Equality: gender stereotypes, uses of time, gender roles, androcentrism, empowerment, sexual harassment, among others. This initiative of the Municipality of Lagoa with Betweien, had the participation of more than 500 students from the municipality, strengthening the commitment of the Municipality, as an educational and inclusive city.
The books of the project "Challenge Stereotypes" were later offered by the Councilwoman of the pelouro, Ana Martins, to the School Libraries of the municipality, so that the message can be disseminated and the activities proposed in the school context can be carried out. Copies were also available at the Lagoa Municipal Library, with the aim of also sensitizing the community in general to the problem.
