Developed by Japanese Masanobu Fukuoka, the technique of clay balls with seeds is an interesting measure in combating erosion and desertification, whether natural or induced after forest fires.
This technique of "seed balls" is distinguished from other techniques because it is easy and replicable, both in informal contexts such as groups of friends or volunteers, or formal as schools, Scouts, among others. "The ease with which seed clay balls are produced enhances a sense of responsibility and ability to intervene collectively, allowing each citizen to help mitigate environmental problems and contribute to effective improvement and effective of our common home: the land!" assure the technicians of the Centre for the Interpretation of nature of the Sitio das Fontes.
"The simple technique of encapsulating clay seeds promotes better conditions for germination and the development of trees and shrubs that, once installed, will help effectively combat soil erosion, and promote biodiversity" add the same specialists.
With this initiative the Municipality of Lagoa intends to promote the approximation of people of all ages to nature, in environments of healthy user-friendly enhanced by the learning of techniques of conservation of landscapes and the planet.
