New Cultural Magazine in Castro Marim, "Confluences"

Last Saturday, May 11th, the association castromarinense "Secular Narrative" presented its zero edition of the cultural magazine "Confluences". The launch took place in the House of Odeleite and was marked by the musical moments of Nádia Catarro, Carla Sabino, Bruno Correia and João Pereira and Hugo Madeira, of the association Mito Algarvio.

It is recalled that the House of Odeleite, now a space of municipal management, is the venue for several cultural projects and the dynamization of the parish of Odeleite, such as the Small Markests in the village. The choice of this space is also due to the cover of the new magazine, the Blue Dragon of the aerial view of the Odeleite Dam.

"Confluences" was born from the willingness to gain space and give voice to the projects and cultural initiatives of the territory of the “Baixo Guadiana”, also expressing the strong local associative movement, one of the main responsible for the cultural dynamics of Castro Marim. It is a quarterly magazine, with opinion articles, from music to literature, with creative texts by author and with brief news notes.

The collaborators are, in most, Castro Marim, where the Secular narrative Association is headquartered. This edition gave particular emphasis to the meritorious work developed by the Association Mito Algarvio, in the defense and promotion of this cultural heritage inherent to the accordion and accordionists and so intrinsically linked to the Algarvian culture.

The "Secular narrative" was born about a year ago and intends to cross various arts, either in the realization of events, either in the production of artistic objects or in social volunteering. The formation in artistic, social and technological areas is another of the focus of the association. His work also goes through the development of projects in partnership with other entities and associations, leveraging and optimizing natural and local resources that already exist.
